Sollte einem jemand über den Weg laufen, der auf seiner Weste ATF stehen hat, könnte es sich dabei um einen Schützen mit dem Ländercode der französischen Süd- und Antarktisgebiete handeln. Vielleicht ist es auch jemandem von der US-amerikanischen Bundesbehörde „Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives“.
Viele Schützen schmücken Ihre Schießwesten mit Stickereien der Landesflaggen und der dazu passenden Länderkürzel. Das wohl bekannteste ist das der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika – USA.
In Europa kennt man z. B. ITA für Italien, GBR für das Vereinigte Königreich. AUT steht für Österreich, TUR für die Türkei und SWE für Schweden.
Aber wie sieht es z. B. mit der Schweiz aus? CHE oder SUI? Oder Dänemark? DEN oder DNK?
Rein vom Gefühl würde man wahrscheinlich die aus Medien bekannten Ländercodes des Internationalen Olympischen Komitees (IOC) wählen. Dabei sind doch FITASC-Disziplinen noch nicht olympisch. Im Wurfscheiben-Sport sind das nur die Disziplinen der ISSF.
Müssen wir uns für die Bestickung der Schießwesten der internationalen Organisation für Normung (ISO) beugen und in Deutschland DEU statt GER wählen? Die Norm ISO 3166-1 sieht seit dem Jahr 1974 unverändert noch die Abkürzung DE oder auch 276 vor.
Eine Anfrage bei der FITASC in Frankreich wurde leider nicht beantwortet (Stand 24.08.2021).
Was meint Ihr dazu? DEU oder GER – ist doch egal!

Die FITASC hat nun bestätigt, dass sie, zum Zeitpunkt es Errichtens des Internetauftritts, sich für die ISO 3166-1 alpha3 Norm entschieden hat, unabhängig davon, ob es eine olympische Disziplin ist oder nicht.

Dear Sir,
Indeed we chose the ISO 3166-1 alpha3 abbreviation code when we set the Fitasc web site, but not especially because our discipline are not Olympic. That was just a choice !
