Sollte einem jemand \u00fcber den Weg laufen, der auf seiner Weste ATF stehen hat, k\u00f6nnte es sich dabei um einen Sch\u00fctzen mit dem L\u00e4ndercode der franz\u00f6sischen S\u00fcd- und Antarktisgebiete handeln. Vielleicht ist es auch jemandem von der US-amerikanischen Bundesbeh\u00f6rde „Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives“.

Viele Sch\u00fctzen schm\u00fccken Ihre Schie\u00dfwesten mit Stickereien der Landesflaggen und der dazu passenden L\u00e4nderk\u00fcrzel. Das wohl bekannteste ist das der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika \u2013 USA.
In Europa kennt man z. B. ITA f\u00fcr Italien, GBR f\u00fcr das Vereinigte K\u00f6nigreich. AUT steht f\u00fcr \u00d6sterreich, TUR f\u00fcr die T\u00fcrkei und SWE f\u00fcr Schweden.

Aber wie sieht es z. B. mit der Schweiz aus? CHE oder SUI? Oder D\u00e4nemark? DEN oder DNK?

Rein vom Gef\u00fchl w\u00fcrde man wahrscheinlich die aus Medien bekannten L\u00e4ndercodes des Internationalen Olympischen Komitees (IOC) w\u00e4hlen. Dabei sind doch FITASC-Disziplinen noch<\/em> nicht olympisch. Im Wurfscheiben-Sport sind das nur die Disziplinen der ISSF.

M\u00fcssen wir uns f\u00fcr die Bestickung der Schie\u00dfwesten der internationalen Organisation f\u00fcr Normung (ISO) beugen und in Deutschland DEU statt GER w\u00e4hlen? Die Norm ISO 3166-1 sieht seit dem Jahr 1974 unver\u00e4ndert noch die Abk\u00fcrzung DE oder auch 276 vor.

Eine Anfrage bei der FITASC in Frankreich wurde leider nicht beantwortet (Stand 24.08.2021).

Was meint Ihr dazu? DEU oder GER – ist doch egal!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die FITASC hat nun best\u00e4tigt, dass sie, zum Zeitpunkt es Errichtens des Internetauftritts, sich f\u00fcr die ISO 3166-1 alpha3 Norm entschieden hat, unabh\u00e4ngig davon, ob es eine olympische Disziplin ist oder nicht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you run into someone with ATF written on their vest, it could be a shooter with the country code of the French Southern and Antarctic Territories. It might also be someone from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Many shooters decorate their shooting vests with embroidery of country flags and matching country codes. The best known is probably that of the United States of America – USA.
In Europe you know for example ITA for Italy, GBR for the United Kingdom. AUT stands for Austria, TUR for Turkey and SWE for Sweden.

But what about Switzerland, for example? CHE or SUI? Or Denmark? DEN or DNK?

Purely from the feeling one would probably choose the country codes of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) known from the media. But FITASC disciplines are not yet Olympic. In clay target sports, these are only the disciplines of the ISSF.

Do we have to bow to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for the embroidery of shooting vests and choose DEU instead of GER in Germany? The ISO 3166-1 standard still provides for the abbreviation DE or also 276, unchanged since the year 1974.

A request to the FITASC in France was unfortunately not answered (as of 24.08.2021).

Dear Sir,

Indeed we chose the ISO 3166-1 alpha3 abbreviation code when we set the Fitasc web site, but not especially because our discipline are not Olympic. That was just a choice !
